As always, what comes with pros also comes the cons...
  • Software comes in an zip file which may be a little confusing to newbies when unzipping files and installing them to a hard drive--unzip software is needed and this whole process requires extras steps. We recommend downloading WindZip (see "PC Satellite TV Recommended Software" in right column). If this becomes an issue, the vendor also offers a backup to downloading the software
  • Sometimes a channel may not play during certain time intervals--no fault of the software however because of channel downtimes that originate from internet providers, every now and then this will happen. But there are still 1000s of other channels to watch. Sometime channels come and go. There may be dead channel links once in awhile but the "Scan for Available Channels" automatically corrects this when clicking it
  • The "Scan for available channels" may still be in BETA. When it will come out of BETA is unknown. It takes a while to scan and is probably best used when doing something else for or sleeping
  • Like all top Satellite TV players including the free commercialized media players, the channel and video quality can be either good or excellent--higher the connection speed which can cost more determines video quality and overall performance
  • There will be many channels that will never be viewed because they are foreign or not interesting. However, there are plenty of English/non-English channels to explore. The good news comes when users can store their owns favorite channels

Update: As of 3/12/09, the Satellite PC Pro 'Scan for Available Channels' and sending emails to tech support from the member's area isn't working properly.
