The Satellite TV for PC Editions are not standalone software. They rely on free software such as Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and Microsoft .Net Frameswork to make them work on your computer. The merchant has everything covered during the downloading and installation process. You will be prompted to download a free software, if it’s missing from your computer. That’s how simple this process was to us. What we also like is everything falls into one place, a centralized location to access 1000s of channels.
When asked the question why would anyone want to pay a small one-time downloading fee when they can find their own free channels, here’s what we know. However, users will still experience some channels down times in different times zones. This isn’t a scam by any means. All of these channels comes from licensed Internet media owners free of charge. Some owners don’t provide their channels 24/7 but they will become again soon. This occurs with any Internet TV software you download. But remember, you still have 1000s of English and non-English speaking channels to entertainment you.
A broadband connection is required, either DSL or High Speed Internet connection at 512kbps. A wireless (wifi) connection will work but not for the media files with larger bandwidths. For your laptop, if you have one, you can use either wifi or broadband card/USB which is better.

The new sleek look is more attractive than the old Satellite TV for PC 2007. When looking at the TV player above (please excused the blurred) notice near the very top, starting from the left, there's a menu bar with seven tabs, as follows:

- Stations >> Add New Channel; Play; Stop; Add to Favorites; Record
- Favorites >> Play; Delete from favorites

This menu bar is 10 times better than before with more added features, which provides an easier point and click navigation. It makes the entire process more fun when accessing Internet TV channels. The old version didn’t have a ‘Favorites’ feature, but now it does. You can easily save and store your favorite channels a few easy ways. The Sat TV for PC - TV player also comes with a 'Record' button that lets you record any TV show, movie or whatever you are watching. The remaining features are self explanatory and easy enough that a child can navigate.
See below, there are three buttons under the menu bar:
1. Category - Get all the TV you want by pointing and clicking yellow directories. You can see them in the blue area in the left column of the TV player. Each directory when clicked will open many files inside (TV channels). Simple double click a channel, sit back, and enjoy Internet TV. Here are the following directory names included:
Arabic; Business; Educational; Entertainment; General; Government; HDTV; Kids; Lifestyles; Mics; Movies; Music; News; Political; Religious; Shopping; Sports; TV; Weather
Remember, each yellow directory when opened contains many files or TV channels. You can see an example in the blue area below.
2. Country - At least 78 Countries (yellow directories). Just click the Country you want and it will open with TV channels. Enjoy watching channels from your homeland and whatever language you like.
3. Favorites - Nice feature to have when storing all those interesting channels you discover when exploring this TV player's content.

At the bottom of the screen, you will see four button controls in the right corner--Play, Stop, Record this Show, and Turn Sound On/Off.
Other features include the Volume and Full Screen. Actually the TV player above is displayed in full screen. Just double click the top edge of the screen, or click the button in the lower right corner to get a full screen. Hit the Esc key to shorten the screen. You can also use the Maximize button in the upper right corner.
