See How The Satellite TV Cube Platinum Edition Stacks Up To Other Software Packages, And Whether Or Not It Can Work For You!
Complete Access to All Kinds of Worldwide Sporting Events with Schedules, BIG Games, Pros and College--Even the Ones Locally Blacked Out!
When coming this far to see whether or not the Cube makes good on its promise there has to be more understanding what this software isn't, as well as what it can and can't do. Usually what's embedded in a person's mind is a piece of cheap software can provide access to free Satellite TV channels it's once downloaded. Therefore, to put an end to the myth as well as the hype, let it be clear the Cube doesn't decode/descramble any signals or provide free access to paid channels. However, whatever the Internet provides is no fault of the Satellite TV Cube service or any legal PC Satellite TV software like it. These products don't own the the free content--they only help gain instant access.
That said, the Cube is safe, legal, and risk-free to download, install, and use. There is no cause to worry about spyware, adware, or a virus. But, having security protection software is recommended when downloading from other sites.
What Exactly Is Satellite TV Cube? It's a software service that comes in a package which includes a Satellite TV player, all-in-one member's area, and amenities. Think of the Cube as a newbie-helper. It streamlines everything from setting up a computer Internet TV to gaining 1000s of free Internet TV/Radio/Music/VOD media.
The TV player is pre-loaded with cfree media to load and play within 30 seconds. With the all-in-one member's area, both add organization and streamlining. It's better said that the Cube caters more to newbies as well as variety TV, Radio, Music, VOD, and sports enthusiasts. It offers an easier gateway to 4000+ TV channels and radio stations coming from 78+ Countries than trying to find and do everything manually yourself.
This package also includes a lifetime membership consisting of free on-going software upgrades, channel updates, and tech support. There are no monthly fees to pay whatsoever, no equipment to install such as a Dish, receiver, set-top box, cables, or PC TV video card. In addition, no tech know-how is needed or concerns about bad weather interference.
However, downloading the Cube or any software that ask for a small one-time fee isn't a requirement to watching Internet TV. With time and some effort, a person could setup the entire process without a software service. But one of the reasons why software like the Cube are so popular today, comes from individuals who don't have the time or know-how, and much rather pay a service for the work that is already completed.
How Does Satallite TV Cube Software Works And Compares? SatelliteTvCube.com officials neither own nor are licensed providers of the free content that is delivered to a computer. This is nothing more than a service that organizes everything and makes it easier for newbies to get access to free content coming from the World Wide Web, Public Domain, and Internet media providers.
How it works in a nutshell comes when using an Internet broadband connection (DSL or High Speed) and PC with a TV player to stream free audio and video media files across a computer's I.P address. Then it brings the media right to the computer screen. The TV player is either embedded in the user's browser or used as an external player outside of it. The Cube player will do this externally while some of the other players are embedded in the browser.
Here's what you need to know -- the Cube testing begins...
When downloading the Cube software the entire process was quite simple. The easy instructions including organization made the everything easy to set up a computer Internet TV quickly--within minutes. One of things we liked in particular was the troubleshooting procedures in the member's area. This provided quick solutions to common but rare issues. You will not find this in many of the other packages out there.
Although the Satellite TV Cube software files are compressed and have to be unzipped in order to install them to a computer, the instructions with diagrams are helpful. And downloading the free WinRaR made unzipping the files easy. So understand that when downloading the Cube the process requires additional steps compared to some of other PC Satellite TV software packages.
Once everything is setup, the Cube TV player sits as an icon on the computer. Double clicking it opens the player when accessing pro-loaded Internet TV channels, videos, and radio stations begins. Also, the all-in-one member's area offers another platform and is used to gain access to more free media.
There is nothing fancy about the TV player embedded in the Cube platform. In fact, it's nothing more than Windows Media Player. What we didn't like here was the player only included the bare essentials for feature enhancements such as, Play, Stop, Next, Previous, Fast Forward, Volume, and Full Screen. also, there is a link to check for channel list updates and that's it.
As experienced users, we're accustom to having the extras such as scan for available channels, addi channels, save channels to favorites, and record. The full screen link was nowhere's to be found on the TV player which took about a minute or so to discover where it was located.
Right-clicking inside the player's screen opens up a menu where the full screen link appears. With the other players, this usually takes just one click on the player using the mouse and presto, you're in full screen. But not with the Cube.
When using the TV player to access different channels and radio Stations the picture quality was either good or excellent, mostly good. The loading and playback time generally took within 30 seconds or less with only some channels not playing.
One thing to note here is broadband Internet TV doesn't live in a perfect World. Meaning it's still in the baby stage and doesn't come without flaws. The good news is its improving and the same can said about top software when used to access it. Understand also there will be times when some channels will experience down times in different times zones.
When clicking on the same channel at different times and it still doesn't play, more than likely it's a broken link. Some TV players have a link in the menu bar to report broken links instantly. However, the Cube doesn't provide this which is another downfall. Instead, you have to go to the all-in-one member's area or Satelite TV Cube site to send an email to the merchant about broken links.
Locating and accessing channels/stations aren't the same as free-to-air and paid television at home. It takes a little time to become familiar with this kind of free media when discovering entertainment you like. As for the TV player developed by merchant, rest ashore that many of the pre-loaded channels and stations are never used by most users. There are 78+ different Countries and languages.
As a result, this takes some exploring to learn exactly where to retrieve favorite channels for viewing later on. However, the Cube doesn't offer an "Add to Favorites feature to make the process easier which is another strike against it. There are 100s of live and 1000s of recorded media. The Country directory has everything in alphabetical order which exception to UK and USA that sits at the very top of the order.
Clicking the menu icons such as, TV Channels, Radio Channels, Movies/Trailers, and Live Sports adds more organization needed to find certain groups of media. However, the best entertainment comes from the all-in-one member's area where there are additional links. If trying to watch a favorite TV episode such as Lost or CSI, or watch a favorite sporting event for instance, the Cube TV player doesn't provide it. You have to go to the member's area.
After clicking the Movies/Trailers icons, a problem occurred with many of the video links. Only several of them played out of a 100 or so links. Either these links were broken or our computer didn't have the right codecs to play them.
It would be only fair to say once again that none of these PC Satellite TV software products come without flaws. For the most part, they are vastly improving but it's still the merchant's job to make sure the links work and should provide a "Scan for Available Channels" feature. That way the user can automatically scan for new and updated channels at will.
People that benefit more when using the Cube are the ones that...
- Don't know how to setup a computer Internet TV
- Don't know where or how to find favorite TV shows, sporting events, etc.
- Don't have the time or want to do all the work
- Likes the idea of using software to streamline the process

Satellite TV Cube Sports Edition
For sports enthusiast who love all kinds of sports or just interested in following local teams especially when blacked out or only available on paid-TV, the Cube offers way to never miss anything again. What I particularly liked here is the sports edition which provided links with instructions that quickly takes you exactly where all the sporting events are located. With access to another site that provided sports schedules with daily alerts, this gave me the dates, times, and events, including TV players to use to watch them. This process made everything easier for me as oppose to trying find everything myself. There are three additional TV players that must downloaded in order for this to work.
And best of all, I didn't have to manually open these players myself because the sports schedule not only provided information needed, it gave me links to players to click and play the event.
The Satellite TV Cube Platinum offers an array of possibilities that only takes ones imagination. However, the key is knowing whether or not this software meets a need and comes with a safety net if all else fails.
What is the Safety Net?
Firstly--if you buy the software and it doesn't work for you, there is a 30-day money guarantee that comes from Plimus. This is a highly reputable, safe, and secure e-commerce sales/refunds processor that I have personal used to buy products in the past. It generally takes 2 to 4 business days so I'm told to get a refund, after the initial request is sent to Plimus. This information will be provided by the merchant and Plimus with instructions.
Secondly, another safety net comes when paying the small one-time fee by credit card rather than with a check. With a credit card, the consumer can request a chargeback by contacting his/her credit card bank.
Thirdly, the Cube merchant also offers a monthly subscription plan which is extremely low--$6.00+. If at any time, the software doesn't meet your expectation, simply cancel the subscription plan. Most top PC Satellite TV software packages don't come with any free-trials or test-runs of the software but this comes a little closer. Therefore, it puts the Cube a little ahead of it competitors.
In short the Satellite TV Cube Platium has its shortcoming and is more helpful to newbies moreso than the experienced. While the feature enhancement are nothing to make over, the very basic Cube TV player is easy enough for a caveman to use. Some will see it as childsplay to use while others may find it to be a lackluster design. As a result, the Cube definitely caters more to newbies and sports enthusiasts.
When using a broadband connection the media will load and play within 20 seconds. For the most part, the video is either good or excellent. The difference in video quality are noticeable but there are many DVD-like channels. As for the audio, in most cases, the volume is pretty good but can be a little low at times when playing some of the media.
However, if preferred, the audio can be improved by connecting either external computer speakers or connecting the computer Internet TV to a television set in order to give the audio a little boost, if needed. Listening to radio works very well. Also keep in mind, when connecting to a TV-set the media on the screen will have somewhat of a lesser quality than a computer screen.
Downloading the Satellite TV Cube Platinum Edition or any software like it can only go a far as the quality of Internet TV and video media. One must consider the source. Yet many people are downloading these types of PC Satellite TV software to their computers while accepting their shortcomings. The Cube makes a good effort however the some more improvement is needed and hopefully on the way.
NOTE: Downloading, installing, and using the Satellite TV Cube Platinum Edition is safe, but you don’t have to take this review’s word for it. Simply download the free McAfee SiteAdvisor which alerts you when a website appears to be harmful. Also, I highly recommend installing anti-virus and spyware/adware software prior to downloading anything from the Net. You will thank yourself later.
